I’ve been teaching guitar at both Shakespeare Primary and Goosewell Primary schools for 10 years now! Wow! It’s been an absolute honour and joy to work with so many enthusiastic and talented pupils over these years!

This last school year has been brilliant and many of my small groups have written and performed their own original songs! Throughout the year, we learn a range of songs and techniques; the pupils then decide if they want to continue to work on these or use what they’ve learnt to create their own song. We’ve put on shows at the schools for classes and families to attend which has been so much fun and has given the guitar pupils a great opportunity to share their work!

I created CDs for all the pupils (despite many not having CD players anymore, they still love having something physical to call theirs!) and all the original songs are available to listen to over on my YouTube teaching channel! Yay!

From songs about moving to secondary school, what each season brings or all the emotions that comes with performing, all the groups have produced the most amazing songs and I’m so proud of every pupil I’ve worked with this year.
